The Role: Freelance Digital Editor

As a Freelance Digital Editor, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that our clients' fundraising and advocacy emails are error-free, compelling, and effective. You'll be responsible for editing and fact-checking content, conducting technical quality assurance on email tests and landing pages, and working with client teams to manage resources and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Editing fundraising and advocacy emails daily for accuracy, syntax, punctuation, grammatical and spelling errors, and typos
• Fact-checking content to ensure accuracy and credibility
• Conducting technical quality assurance on email tests and landing pages, including checking tracking, URLs, rendering, and general functionality
• Ensuring emails are in line with both internal style and client-specific style, while retaining a compelling and authentic voice
• Working with client teams, including technology and creative, to assist in managing resources and timelines on projects

Essential Qualifications:

• At least one year of experience in an editing-adjacent position or internship
• Ability to work during days during the week, at least during the training period
• Experience using a style guide (AP or otherwise)
• Discipline to read carefully, think critically, and strive for perfection
• Ability and willingness to learn and adjust to new technologies and tools
• Ability to review short copy on tight deadlines
• Passion for making our world a better place

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to parse policy is a plus
• Experience with email and SMS functionality and/or user experience is helpful

What We Offer: Competitive Pay and Opportunities for Growth

We're committed to rewarding talent and offering competitive pay. The pay rate for this role begins at $25/hour and increases depending on experience. You'll also have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, develop your skills, and grow your career with our team.

During the training period (up to the first 60 hours), the pay rate will be 75% of the total agreed rate. We're committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment that allows you to thrive.
