Millard North High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Girls Basketball Coach to support our competitive high school basketball program. This is a part-time, seasonal position ideal for individuals passionate about athletics, youth development, and teamwork.

Job Description

The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to organize and implement practices, mentor players, and ensure a positive team culture. This role involves helping prepare athletes for both individual and team success, maintaining safety standards, and modeling sportsmanship and leadership at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required

• Prior coaching experience (high school level preferred)

• Knowledge of basketball techniques, game rules, and team dynamics

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Commitment to youth development and academic support

• Must meet district coaching and background check requirements

• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting practices, drills, and conditioning

• Provide individual feedback and skill development to players

• Promote teamwork, discipline, and respectful behavior

• Support in-game strategies, substitutions, and time management

• Help coordinate travel, equipment, and communication

• Ensure athlete safety and uphold school/district policies

• Act as a role model for student-athletes on and off the court
