Job Description

The National Pharmaceutical Account Director is responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with assigned clients, primarily in the specialty pharmacy sector. You will lead complex contract negotiations, oversee service delivery quality, and drive long-term partnership value across national accounts.

This role is pivotal in aligning Walgreens' strategic objectives with the needs of health plans, PBMs, and pharma manufacturers. As a remote position, the ideal candidate will excel in virtual communication and independent leadership while collaborating cross-functionally with internal stakeholders across sales, operations, and clinical support teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Pharmacy, or related field

• 7+ years in pharmaceutical or healthcare account management

• Proven track record in managing national or enterprise-level accounts

• Deep understanding of specialty pharmacy and PBM models

• Strong contract negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills

• Ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced environment

• Travel up to 25% as needed

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned national specialty pharmacy accounts

• Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive growth and retention

• Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and RFP responses

• Coordinate internal resources to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds client expectations

• Monitor market trends and client needs to identify upsell opportunities

• Deliver regular performance reviews and strategic updates to client leadership teams

• Foster long-term, trust-based relationships that support Walgreens’ market leadership
