At Mathnasium, our mission is to change lives through math by making it fun, accessible, and meaningful for students of all ages. We're not just a tutoring center; we're a community dedicated to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of mathematics. As part of the Speer Solutions family of Mathnasium learning centers, we've been making a difference in the lives of students since 2011, growing from one center in Bryan, Texas, to multiple locations across the state. Now, we're looking for passionate and skilled Math Tutors to join our team in New Braunfels, TX, and help us continue to make a positive impact.

About the Role

As a Math Tutor at our New Braunfels Mathnasium center, you'll play a crucial role in shaping young minds and helping students achieve their full potential in math. • Learn and implement the Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods to deliver high-quality instruction.
  • Tutor students in math at all grade levels (1-12), tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to deepen your understanding of the Mathnasium Method and stay updated on best practices in math education.
  • Work collaboratively with other tutors and center staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Commitment to working with us for at least 9 months.
  • Math proficiency through Algebra 2; Pre-Calculus/Calculus is a plus.
  • Experience tutoring or working with children in grades 1-12 is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in teaching or tutoring math.
  • Strong understanding of math concepts up to and including Algebra 2.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills and Competencies

To succeed as a Math Tutor at Mathnasium, you'll need:

  • A passion for math and a desire to share that passion with others.
  • The ability to break down complex concepts into simple, understandable terms.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage students and make them feel comfortable and supported.

Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits

At Mathnasium, we're committed to the growth and development of our team members. As a Math Tutor, you'll have access to extensive training in the Mathnasium Method, which will not only enhance your teaching skills but also deepen your understanding of math. Our part-time instructors often move into full-time roles, including Center Directors, and we provide the support and resources you need to succeed. Whether you're just starting your career or looking for a new challenge, we offer a path forward.

Work Environment and Company Culture

We pride ourselves on being an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Our culture is built on a foundation of inclusivity, respect, and a shared passion for making a difference in the lives of our students.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly rate starting at $13.00/hr during training, increasing to $14.00/hr upon completion, with further increases as you complete additional training. Our benefits include:

  • Flexible scheduling to fit your needs.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • A supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Employee discounts and referral programs.

How to Apply

If you're passionate about math and dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential, we want to hear from you! Our application process is straightforward:
