Job Overview: Substitute Teacher

As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. We're looking for educators who are passionate about making a difference in students' lives and are committed to providing high-quality instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional support to students in the absence of the regular teacher
• Deliver lessons and activities as planned by the regular teacher or as assigned by the school administration
• Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment
• Build relationships with students, teachers, and school staff
• Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your teaching practices

Essential Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• NJ Substitute Credential
• Background check & TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this!)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related role
• Special education experience or certification
• Experience working with diverse student populations
