Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Pharmacy Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing denied Prior Authorizations by reviewing case information and preparing cases for Pharmacists' final determination
  • Communicating directly with elderly members, addressing their concerns about denied medications, predominantly injectables administered at a doctor's office
  • Making outbound calls per shift to resolve issues and ensure patient satisfaction
  • Working with Medicare and Medicaid patients, focusing primarily on Medicare cases
  • Utilizing computer proficiency to manage case information and communicate with patients and pharmacists
  • Demonstrating strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively address patient concerns and resolve issues
  • Exhibiting problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient processing of Prior Authorizations

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Pharmacy Technician experience, preferably in a remote or call center environment
  • Prior authorization experience, with a strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid regulations
  • Insurance verification experience, with the ability to navigate complex insurance claims
  • Customer service skills, with a focus on patient satisfaction and empathy
  • Computer proficiency, with experience using electronic health records and other software applications
  • Ability to work remotely and independently, with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, pharmacists, and other stakeholders
  • Problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on resolving issues efficiently
  • National certification as a Pharmacy Technician, with registration in Indiana, Alabama, Michigan, South Carolina, or North Carolina

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid patients, with a strong understanding of regulations and guidelines
  • Experience with electronic health records and other software applications, with the ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate with patients who speak languages other than English
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
