The team

Localization is a growth-critical driver of Kraken’s global expansion. As we scale rapidly into new geographies and markets, delivering culturally relevant, high-quality experiences has become essential to driving adoption, building trust, and sustaining long-term engagement.

We serve clients in 200+ geographies and must provide seamless multilingual experiences across every touchpoint, from acquisition campaigns and onboarding flows to product interactions, regulatory communications, and client support.

We are looking for a new Head of Localization to join our team remotely! As our senior leader, you’ll establish and drive a unified localization strategy, oversee our technical stack and vendor ecosystem, and partner closely with geo-expansion, growth, and brand teams to deliver world-class, scalable multilingual experiences globally.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to give all our consumers a best-in-class experience, regardless of their location or language, so that everyone can achieve true financial freedom and inclusion. You will also have the chance to leverage new technologies and take bold steps to ensure we scale operations efficiently.

Ultimately, this is a leadership role with company-wide scope and responsibility. You will lead a global team, work closely with the C-level, and have a unique opportunity to shape the future of crypto on a global scale, right from the driving seat.

The opportunity

• Develop and own Kraken’s global localization strategy, ensuring scalable, high-quality coverage across 30+ languages for all customer touchpoints (website, product, emails, campaigns, client support, and more).

• Partner with the Brand team and language owners to create culturally resonant, localized branding and product naming (e.g., adapting concepts and product terminology to ensure relevance and impact in local markets).

• Partner with geo-expansion and growth teams to drive country rollouts, delivering localized experiences that accelerate adoption, trust, and long-term engagement. Oversee the localization technology stack and vendor ecosystem, driving efficiency, automation, and innovation across processes, tooling, and workflows. Define Kraken’s approach to AI in localization, including vendor partnerships, QA frameworks, and integration of automation into translation and review processes.

• Coordinate and align localization across the business; partnering with Product, Marketing, Client Support, Compliance, and regional market teams to ensure consistency, speed, and flawless execution.

• Establish governance and best practices, balancing scale, quality, and cost across all localization initiatives.

• Lead and mentor the localization team, providing direction, professional growth, and organizational clarity as Kraken expands.

Skills you should HODL

• +7years of experience leading localization at scale in a global, fast-growing company (ideally in crypto, fintech, or another highly regulated, high-stakes industry).

• Experience managing and coaching a diverse team across multiple geographies

• Expertise in localization platforms, tools, automation, and vendor management, with demonstrated success building scalable localization programs.

• Strong operational background with a track record of building automated, tech-driven systems rather than manual processes.

• Strong understanding of emerging technologies, especially AI, and how they impact localization and QA processes.

• Track record of driving global adoption through localization strategies that balance quality, cost, and speed.

• Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Support, and regional market teams.

• You have the ability to build meaningful partnerships with both internal and external business partners across all levels and backgrounds.

• You believe wholeheartedly in the cypherpunk, libertarian values outlined in Kraken’s Tentaclements document.

• Familiarity with the crypto space, including technology developments, key players, and emerging trends

• Must be based in the UK or EU and fluent in English.
