Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AWS Software Engineer to join our team. This is a permanent, fully remote position that offers a unique opportunity to work on innovative projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the creation of systems that will significantly impact our operations and service delivery. As an AWS Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based applications and platforms using AWS services such as EC2 and IAM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure cloud-based applications using AWS services such as EC2 and IAM.
  • Implement authentication and user management solutions using Amazon Cognito.
  • Write, test, and debug code in Python, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
  • Leverage Docker for the creation, deployment, and running of applications.
  • Work with Linux-based systems for the development and deployment of applications.
  • Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, and cloud deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features and improve existing ones.
  • Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and reliability of applications and platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development and deployment.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our systems remain current and competitive.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on cloud-based applications.
  • Proven experience with AWS services, particularly EC2 and IAM.
  • Solid experience in implementing user management and authentication solutions with Amazon Cognito.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Proficiency in working with Linux-based systems.
  • Experience in using Docker for application creation, deployment, and management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • AWS certification.
  • Experience with other AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and API Gateway.
  • Knowledge of containerization using Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $165,000 - $185,000 per year, as well as a range of perks and benefits, including:

  • Rest & Recovery programs, including up to 2 weeks of paid vacation and 11 paid holidays annually.
