Key Responsibilities: Providing Exceptional Patient Care

As a Medical Assistant or LPN in our Rheumatology department, you'll play a vital role in delivering direct and indirect patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing examination and treatment areas to meet clinic standards
  • Completing patient rooming procedures, including vital signs, data collection, and other identified components specific to the clinic setting
  • Administering and documenting unit dose medications/immunizations in accordance with clinic policy
  • Performing EKG's and laboratory testing as required
  • Ensuring accurate, clear, and concise documentation in patient records
  • Completing assigned clerical activities and maintaining supplies
  • Assisting with scheduling follow-up care and appointments
  • Distributing pre-printed/pre-approved patient education materials and directing patient questions to providers or RNs
  • Functioning within the documented Monument Health Scope of Responsibilities
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
  • Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training facility
  • Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by one of the listed certifying bodies (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or AMCA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
  • 1+ year of Clinical Experience
  • 1+ year of Healthcare Experience
