As a Speech Language Pathologist with our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to children, including:- Participating in the planning and provision of speech and language therapy for children, including assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language development, articulation, voice, oral motor, receptive and expressive language.
- Performing appropriate diagnostic and evaluative testing to identify the communication needs of children.
- Presenting well-constructed, thorough reports related to completed assessments and observations of students.
- Developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related documentation for speech and language services.
- Maintaining adequate records of treatment and data of the IEP objectives for the students being served.
- Meeting with parents and advising them of their child's areas of need and progress of development.
- Making recommendations for the level and frequency of services as related to the areas of need in the IEP.
- Working with and assisting other team members with providing necessary carry-over of strategies and skills into all other areas of the students' learning opportunities.
- Preparing reports and information as prescribed by DSD, Christina School District, the Department of Education, and the Cost Recovery office.
- Maintaining a professional relationship, working cooperatively with all school personnel.
- Pursuing opportunities for professional growth.
About the Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:- A Master's degree program in the area of Speech and Language Pathology.
- ASHA (American Speech/Language & Hearing Association) certified or working toward ASHA certification during Clinical Fellowship Year.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language or willingness to learn.
- Ability to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday.
- Minimum lifting requirements of 50 pounds (with assistance).
- Ability to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.
