Business Intelligence Analyst - Reporting and Automation

As part of this team, you will play a critical role in our network transformation through building a unified network across all lines of business and maintaining the technology that keeps millions of our customers connected. You will partner with other internal teams to provide business intelligence through identifying the right data, conducting research and analyses, and providing insights to make recommendations and guide decision making. Plus, you'll come up with the best ways to share the data in dashboards, presentations, and written reports to suit the need and the audience. The Executive Report Automation and Analytics team addresses high-impact, analytically driven projects focused on creating fully automated solutions for complex data products. In the role of Business Intelligence Analyst you will analyze large data sets to draw insights, create fully automated solutions to help drive actionable business decisions for executives. You will also apply advanced analytical techniques and algorithms to help us solve some of Verizon's most pressing challenges.

Responsibilities

• Using your analysis of large structured and unstructured datasets to draw meaningful and actionable insights.
• Utilizing considerable creativity to merge ideation, knowledge of traditional statistical models and AI/ML model uses, insights from SMEs/translators and constraints to propose ML projects that are meaningful and actionable.
• Envisioning and testing for corner cases.
• Building analytical solutions and Automated workflows by manipulating large data sets and integrating diverse data sources.
• Presenting the results and recommendations of automated solutions and data analysis to management and other stakeholders.
• Collaborating with your product group to understand business needs and staying up to date on all the product initiatives and plans.
• Analyzing data and clearly communicating findings to partners.
• Providing the metrics required to support key business goals.
• Creating and supporting new business intelligence services to address emerging needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
• Two or more years of experience using Python, SQL, R, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and statistics.
• Experience with Visualization and reporting tools such as: QLIK, Tableau, Looker etc.
• Experience writing queries for reporting, analysis and extraction of data from big data systems such as Teradata and GCP.
• Experience using Automation Tools such as Knime and Alteryx.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering; ideally, an MBA or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline.
• SQL, SQL Editor for Oracle, and Microsoft Excel experience.
• Familiarity with data visualization software like COGNOS or Tableau.
• Knowledge of big data tools (SQL, Spark, and Splunk) i.e.. manipulating mining data from these systems.
• Data Warehouse knowledge and experience with automation scripting.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
