Copywriter

We're looking for experienced Freelance Copywriter to support our client in the financial services space. Our goal is to build a 3-5 person copywriter bench for on call projects with an average of 10-25 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate is a full-time freelancer looking to build a long-standing relationship with this company and committed to . MUST USE YOUR OWN COMPUTER. This role sits within an integrated B2B marketing team and supports high-volume, project-based content across digital channels. This is an ongoing freelance opportunity for writers who are comfortable working in a regulated, technically complex environment and can step in quickly to own copy across multiple formats from intake to deliverable.

About the Role

The Copywriter will develop content used across web, social, paid media, video, SEO, and thought leadership. You'll collaborate closely with internal marketing partners and subject matter experts, while also working independently to deliver clear, benefit-driven messaging. The work is entirely B2B and "startup", supporting complex financial products and services. Attention to detail, precision, and comfort with compliance-heavy review processes are critical. Copywriter Responsibilities

• Partner closely with an integrated marketing team to understand strategy and execute against business goals
• Develop compelling, client-focused copy for:
• Web pages and landing pages
• SEO articles and long-form thought leadership
• Social and paid media
• Video scripts and campaign messaging
• Translate complex financial products into clear, accessible, benefit-driven content

Team and Workflow

• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Content Strategists, Designers, and Animators
• Lead video project kickoff calls to gain a deep understanding of project needs
• Proof and polish content from other writers as a final quality check
• Take full ownership of assigned projects from kickoff through delivery
• QA to ensure you're adhering strictly to corporate branding, legal, and compliance guidelines
• Contribute to timelines and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Make recommendations for future content opportunities and best practices

Volume & Freelance Working Arrangement

• High-volume environment with multiple new projects coming in daily during peak periods
• Typical notice ranges from 48 hours to two weeks
• Writers receive project materials and briefs in advance and are expected to come prepared to kickoff calls
• First drafts for articles and webpages are generally due 3 5 days after kickoff
• Weekly time commitment typically ranges from:
• Minimum: some weeks may have lulls, particularly around the holidays where there are 0 hours. You may decline work if a project comes in and you already are at capacity with another client.
• Average: 10-25 hours

Copywriter Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience writing in a professional corporate finance or financial services environment
• Strong B2B writing background; experience with commercial banking, investment banking, payments, or fintech preferred
• Also considering candidates with experience writing copy geared towards clients/prospects in the startup space
• Exceptional command of the English language (written and verbal)
• Strong understanding of SEO best practices, including technical requirements for effective SEO articles
• Experience working cross-functionally with content strategists, designers, and digital teams
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Strong judgment, professionalism, and relationship-building skills
• Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team
• Portfolio demonstrating mastery of finance-focused, client-benefit-driven content
