Costing and Elections Analyst

CalPERS, the nation's largest public pension fund, is seeking a Costing & Elections Analyst in the Member Account Management Division. The role involves performing eligibility reviews and cost calculations for service credit purchase requests, as well as investigating and resolving inquiries of a sensitive nature.

Responsibilities

• Perform eligibility review and cost calculations of service credit purchase (SCP) requests
• Review, research, evaluate, correct, process, and maintain SCP elections
• Investigate and resolve difficult and sensitive cases and issues
• Respond to inquiries (i.e.: telephone, Workflow inquiries, etc.) of a difficult and sensitive nature and escalates to designated team members when appropriate

• Provide a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for the hiring manager's review. Applications received without an SOQ or those that do not respond to the specific questions below will not be considered
• The SOQ must be typed, titled 'Statement of Qualifications,' and each response must be numbered and list all relevant experience, education, and training, including places of employment, dates, and duties performed. The SOQ must not exceed two pages in length and must be in 11 point font
• Describe how your education, training, and work experience have prepared you to perform the responsibilities of this position, as outlined in the duty statement
• Describe your written and verbal communication skills, highlighting your ability to deliver sensitive information using tact and professionalism
• Describe your experience in handling a heavy workload with competing priorities, and the steps you take to ensure your work is accurate and deadlines are met
• All experience and education relating to the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification should be included in your application package to clearly demonstrate how you meet the MQs for this position

• If you have a degree from outside of the United States, you must submit an evaluation of this degree to determine the US equivalency
