Network Deployment Lead, DCC Communities
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a leader in the cloud computing industry, and they are seeking a motivated Network Deployment Project Lead to join their Infrastructure Delivery team. The role involves end-to-end ownership of medium to large-scale Data Center cabling deployments, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.
Responsibilities
- Initial cabling planning, installation, validation, and quality assessment
- Engaging external contractors including newly onboarded cabling vendors
- Planning and working with a wide range of project stakeholders to determine device and cabling requirements, scheduling resources to meet project timelines, engage external vendors, and continuous status reporting
- Installation of, racking and stacking networking devices, running and patching fiber cabling, and configuring devices using automation tools and the command line interface
- Validation, device troubleshooting and stress testing prior to capacity delivery
- Willingness to travel up to 50% including some local and international assignments throughout AMER
Skills
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in computer networking
- Experience working with Linux operating systems
- Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting
- Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
