[Remote] Disability Calculation Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Manulife is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better. The Disability Calculation Analyst will be responsible for calculating and coding offsets, informing plan members of overpayment amounts, and collaborating with case management teams to strengthen financial results.
Responsibilities
- Calculate and code offsets and the adjusted LTD benefit in Navigator
- Inform Plan Member of the overpayment amount with clear explanations both verbally and in writing
- Follow-up with Plan Member for reimbursement of overpayment and negotiate an acceptable repayment plan when necessary
- Proceed with claim recoveries in Navigator
- Collaborate with the Case Management teams to strengthen financial results
- Work closely with other colleagues to prioritize work especially during peak times
Skills
- Strong customer service focus; ability to be empathetic while delivering sometimes difficult messages
- Strong math skills
- Very comfortable with Office 365; most notably Excel and Word
- Able to read and interpret group insurance contracts and apply their provisions
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong negotiation skills
- Experience with Navigator is an asset
- Experience in disability benefit calculations is helpful
- Open to change and continuous improvement
- A capacity for constant learning from both success and failure
