[Remote] Data Scientist

They are seeking a Data Scientist to enhance their underwriting processes through advanced analytics and provide actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Identify business opportunities through data-driven insights and develop high-impact analytical solutions
• Independently explore data and create a structured analytical work plan to derive meaningful insights
• Execute and analyze hypotheses to pinpoint factors contributing to forecasting errors
• Communicate analytical solutions and results through compelling narratives and visualizations to drive informed business decisions
• Understand coding, GIT, documentation, and quality assurance best practices

Skills

• 1+ years of experience in prescriptive and descriptive analytics, statistics, or a related field, with a proven ability to effectively conduct root cause analysis and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (Pandas) with 2+ years of professional experience
• Strong statistical and analytical background with hands-on experience in experimental design and ROI analysis
• Skilled in exploring various data sources and systems to diagnose the root causes and be able to provide effective solution which may include machine learning or statistical methods
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field is required
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities which leverages statical and machine learning methods
• Solid SQL, Pyspark and Python coding skills are essential
• Experience in the PBM industry and/or management consulting is a plus
• Proficiency in Tableau is advantageous
• A Master's degree in a quantitative field or an MBA is strongly preferred
