Job Summary

The Financial Counselor (Customer Services) position supports the reduction of Accounts Receivable by providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families, while also ensuring accurate and timely financial information is communicated. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, responding to their financial inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner

  • Communicate financial information accurately and clearly, ensuring patients and their families understand their financial obligations and options
  • Collaborate with the Patient Accounting team to resolve financial issues and discrepancies, ensuring accurate and timely resolution
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient financial information, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and arenaflex policies
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce Accounts Receivable, improving cash flow and financial performance
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices
  • Work effectively in a team environment, providing support and assistance to colleagues as needed

Essential Qualifications

* Associate's degree in a related field (e.g., business, finance, healthcare administration) or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare or financial services setting, with a focus on customer service and financial counseling
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve financial issues and discrepancies
  • Proficiency in Patient Accounting systems and software, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business, finance, healthcare administration) or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a healthcare or financial services setting, with a focus on customer service and financial counseling
  • Certification in a related field (e.g., Certified Patient Account Manager, Certified Financial Counselor)
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare software systems
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
