Littera Education is looking for English / Reading / ELA tutors that have experience working with students who are first learning English and/or who speak English as a second language, to join our virtual tutor pool.

• 100% virtual tutors will provide tutoring to K-6 students across the United States using provided lesson content in an engaging, feature-rich virtual classroom.
• Tutors must be located within the United States when conducting tutoring.
• Tutors are scheduled with the same student for multiple sessions a week, most often at the same time, on different days.
• Tutoring takes place Monday to Friday between 8am ET and 9pm ET.
• Tutors for this role would add availability to their calendar for potential scheduling at least 3 days a week at the same times each day (not including Saturday and Sunday).
• A session series may range from a six week length to the full school year.
• Tutors may choose to be assigned to more than one session series and can conduct multiple daily sessions.

Tutors at Littera are booked with a consistent schedule from week to week as part of a high dosage tutoring model where tutors meet with the same student for an ongoing session series. Requirements:

• TESOL/TEFL/TESL Certificate preferred (will upload at time of application)
• Experience working with ESL/EFL learners
• ESL virtual tutor experience a plus
• Relevant experience working with school-age learners in some capacity
• Relatively consistent ongoing calendar availability, week to week at the same time
• Ability to effectively instruct and engage students with clear communication
• A high comfort level with online virtual tools and technology
• Desktop or laptop using the Chrome browser, a video camera, and a reliable/stable internet connection. We recommend a hard-wired high-speed internet connection and a noise canceling headset with microphone
• Tutors must reside and tutor from within the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred, college students are welcome to apply with 1+ years of relevant experience

Application Process: * Selected applicants will be asked to record and submit a two minute video response, sharing their experience working with students and general calendar availability from their tutoring space.

• Meet with a tutor mentor and participate in a 25 minute virtual mock tutoring appointment with a 5 minute tutoring demonstration with provided mock session content.
• Tutors that receive an offer will be asked to complete onboarding steps and consent to a background check.

Please note, this is a remote contract position and is not full-time. This role is perfect for you if you are interested in earning supplemental income with a flexible schedule that you choose, Littera does not guarantee a set number of hours per week. How are tutors scheduled? Littera tutors set their availability in their tutor dashboard. Sessions are offered at Littera Monday to Friday, with session times generally between 8am ET to 9pm ET. Tutors share the subjects and levels of interest to tutor and open calendar availability. Curriculum is provided for all sessions. Following a complete tutor profile, and a review of the curriculum platform(s), the platform begins to seek to match a tutor with an ongoing program series. The platform may match a tutor with a tutoring series quickly, or the platform may continue to search for a match for the tutor over a number of weeks, based on the incoming student subjects/levels/schedule, and the tutor profile. Littera prioritizes a consistent student:tutor relationship. Tutors are matched with the same student(s) a few times each week, for a series of weeks, as part of the tutoring program. Opening consistent calendar availability, week to week, is requested.
