Analyst, Technical
Newmont Corporation is the world’s leading gold company and a producer of various metals. The Analyst, Technical will support digital initiatives and decision-making across Fixed Plant Asset Management by transforming complex datasets into insights and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Asset Management teams to understand business requirements and data needs to deliver tailored solutions as part of Digital Enablement and AI-ML
- Support continuous improvement and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams
- Support development of solutions that address business challenges and optimize processes
- Gather, clean, and prepare data from multiple sources to ensure quality and readiness
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and operational insights
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations that clearly communicate findings and guide strategic decision-making
- Stay current on emerging data-science technologies and incorporate new techniques in solutions
- Contribute to data governance, data integrity, and best-practice data management
Skills
- Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical groups
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Databricks)
- Familiarity with data lakes, databases, cloud platforms, and big-data tools
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, practical business insights
- Understanding of change-management concepts and continuous-improvement methodologies
- Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to continuous learning
- Mining or natural resource experience is strongly preferred with an understanding of Fixed Plant Asset Management concepts, principles and datasets
