Position Summary

Reporting to the Business Operations and Strategy Leader, the Referee Talent & Operations Support Project Employee will support core components of the league’s officiating pipeline across talent identification, performance development, and essential department operations. This blended role will support scouting, referee development in the G League, and overall administrative coordination to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across key Referee Operations workflows.

This position will assist in, maintaining essential referee databases, maintaining scouting reports and evaluations, facilitating communication with prospects, candidates, and new hires, managing in -market logistics for all scouting and pipeline events, and coordinating key administrative tasks across the G League and Scouting functions. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational instincts, communication skills, and can work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist in compiling and maintaining up-to-date evaluations, notes, and candidate profiles within the scouting and G League referee development databases
  • Participate in candidate evaluation events through notetaking, logistics coordination, and information aggregation
  • Support the collection of performance notes and summaries for mid-season and end of season reviews
  • Assist with organizing and distributing vetted play clips and development materials for training sessions, presentations, and internal briefings
  • Help maintain multiple operational databases that support G League and Scouting officiating programs
  • Support administrative workflows including apparel coordination, credentialing, vendor/payment submissions, and event preparation
  • Assist with managing departmental call cadence, materials, and content-related logistics
  • Coordinate communication with internal and external partners including league staff, referee candidates, and stakeholders
  • Contribute to department initiatives that strengthen transparency, development, and organizational consistency across the officiating program

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across stakeholders
  • Strong written communication skills, including clarity in evaluations and reporting
  • Experience with Analytics platforms and Data insight tools is preferred
  • Ability to work independently, remotely, and in coordination with cross-functional league partners
  • Familiarity leveraging digital review systems and tools for reports, presentations, and communication
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with strong attention to detail, particularly in database management, event logistics, and operational efficiency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project-tracking tools
  • Ability to travel or support remote operational needs as assigned

Experience Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience supporting operations, logistics, or administrative processes in a sports or related environment
  • Prior exposure to referee scouting or development processes is a plus

Salary Range:

$2,692 - $2,885 Bi-Weekly
