Overview

The Developer will design, build, and support secure and robust information technology systems for Fort Wayne Metals (FWM) while thoroughly understanding the structure of the business’ data, the systems being used, and how they are integrated. This position would ideally support our D365 ERP implementation  project but also the API Integration requirements. 

 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience preferred.
  • D365 Experience and API management and architecture

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop custom applications based on business requirements using development standards, project methodology, and best practices as defined by FWM in order to support the business process and the Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP).
  • Perform system analysis of developed applications. Make adjustments and improvements, as necessary.
  • Support end users on applications.
  • Collaborate with the Business Analyst team to provide on-going support to business units for ERP and custom applications through effective communication with end-users.
  • Perform problem solving and debugging techniques to help resolve problems in all applications.
  • Support team to accomplish project-based tasks, with direction from Development Manager.
  • Properly document code, process, and end user functions in a professional manner with analysis team.
  • Work with a team of developers for projects of large scope.
  • Perform custom reports for specific data results as requested by management and develop reports for the business analytics team.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve concerns with systems and applications.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

  • Ability to interact collaboratively with a team.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have strong communication skills to relay technical information to non-technical employees.
  • Understand and apply safe work practices.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Fast-paced office environment.
  • Travel between facilities required.
  • Typical work hours consist of 45+ per week.
  • Sitting and working at a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to access all areas of operation.
