Technical Support Specialist

Department: Customer Success Location: Remote, Continental U.S., VA START YOUR APPLICATION

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technical Support Specialist to support automotive inventory systems across dealership and OEM platforms. This role is critical in ensuring accurate vehicle data across websites, digital retailing tools, and third-party marketplaces.

The ideal candidate excels at interpreting complex technical issues, simplifying them for non-technical stakeholders, and acting as a bridge between dealership personnel, vendors, and internal technical teams in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.

This is a full-time, salaried, remote position. Candidates must be located within the Continental U.S., eastern or central time zones highly preferred, but all are welcome to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Dealer & Stakeholder Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for dealership clients and internal teams regarding vehicle inventory issues
  • Listen actively to dealership concerns and translate them into actionable technical solutions
  • Communicate clearly with both technical teams and non-technical dealership staff

Inventory Systems & Data Management

  • Monitor and support vehicle inventory feeds across multiple systems including DMS, Inventory Management Systems, and third-party platforms
  • Ensure accurate syndication of inventory to dealer websites and marketplaces
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in pricing, vehicle details, images, and availability

Technical Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

  • Investigate and resolve complex data and system issues
  • Analyze and resolve replication issues and data sync failures
  • Comfort working with developer tooling such as API testing tools and code editors (e.g., Postman, VS Code) to support troubleshooting, validation, and collaboration with various front and backend engineering teams

Database & System Expertise

  • Apply understanding of database architecture, normalization, and indexing
  • Ensure data integrity across multiple systems

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between dealerships, OEMs, vendors, and internal teams
  • Translate technical findings into clear, business-friendly explanations
  • Identify trends and support system improvements

Documentation & Communication

  • Maintain detailed documentation of issues and resolutions
  • Create clear guides for clients and internal teams
  • Present findings in a structured manner

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor�s degree
  • 3+ years� experience with MySQL (query debugging, log analysis, replication troubleshooting)
  • 3+ years� experience working with database architecture, normalization, indexing
  • Strong ability to listen, interpret, and simplify complex information
  • Ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments
  • High attention to detail
  • Complex issue troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications, experience working with:

  • DMS platforms (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack)
  • Automotive inventory platforms (Vauto, Homenet, Vincue, ACV/Max) and/or website providers
  • OEM data standards and vehicle merchandising
  • Familiarity with:
  • Inventory feeds (e.g., XML, JSON)
  • Automotive marketplaces & digital retailing platforms
  • Dealership operations

  • Inventory is consistently accurate, timely, and properly syndicated across all platforms.
  • Issues are diagnosed quickly with clear root cause identification and resolution.
  • Dealership clients feel supported, informed, and confident in system performance.
  • Technical concepts are communicated clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration across internal teams and external partners drives continuous improvement.
