Job Summary

As a Customer Service & Sales Representative, you'll play a critical role in driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You'll work closely with customers to understand their needs, provide expert advice, and recommend solutions that meet their goals. Your passion for sales, combined with your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will make you a valuable asset to our team.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers, actively seeking out opportunities to assess their needs and provide assistance

  • Learn about products and services using our tools and training programs, and provide expert advice to customers
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to your Manager on Duty
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments
  • Participate in sales initiatives and promotions to drive sales growth and meet sales targets
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, contractors, and builders to build loyalty and drive repeat business
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, industry trends, and competitor activity to provide expert advice and recommendations to customers

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, sales, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and move freely throughout the store

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in the home improvement or building materials industry

  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Certification in a related field, such as sales or customer service
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
