We are seeking a Project Portfolio Specialist III to lead a highly impactful initiative: our internal Project Management Academy. In this role, you will be the driving force behind turning our organization into a project-driven powerhouse. This is a tactical and influential position where you will design and deliver training to build project capabilities across all levels of the business, enabling each unit to run its own initiatives successfully. You won’t just manage a portfolio; you will shape the mindset, the framework (from Lean to Scrum), and the culture of how work gets done here. The Mission: Driving the Project Management Academy As our Portfolio Specialist and Academy Lead, you will spearhead an exclusive program: The Project School: You will build and run the curriculum to train diverse roles across the company on fundamental project concepts: What is a project? How do we manage it? And how do we execute it flawlessly? High-Performance Talent Only: You will be training an elite group; admission to this academy is exclusively reserved for our top-performing employees, managers, and directors. Empowering Business Autonomy: Your ultimate goal is to ensure that every business unit develops the maturity and capability to successfully own, manage, and deliver their own internal projects. Mastering the Tech Stack: You will serve as the company's subject matter expert on Jira, ensuring teams know how to effectively leverage the tool to track velocity, dependencies, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Culture & Evangelization: Act as a tactical changemaker, building a robust, agile, and standardized project culture across the entire organization. Training & Mentorship: Facilitate high-impact training sessions, workshops, and coaching for key stakeholders, including senior managers and directors. Methodology Alignment: Bridge the gap between frameworks, guiding teams through hybrid approaches ranging from Lean principles to Scrum methodologies. Portfolio Governance: Maintain oversight of the organization's overarching project portfolio, ensuring alignment between trained business units and strategic goals. Tool Optimization: Standardize Jira workflows and train teams on how to utilize the platform to its full potential for maximum transparency and efficiency. Job Requirements To succeed in this role, you must possess a rare blend of technical rigor and exceptional social/interpersonal intelligence: Experience & Background 5+ years of experience in Project Management, PMO environments, or Agile coaching, preferably with experience designing internal training programs or academies. Proven track record of working with frameworks ranging from Lean to Scrum / Agile. Deep, expert-level knowledge of Jira (workflows, dashboards, portfolio management). Leadership & Social Skills (Crucial for this role) High Influence & Social Intelligence: You must have the gravitas, empathy, and communication skills required to train, influence, and gain buy-in from senior managers and directors. Pedagogical Instinct: A passion for teaching and the ability to break down complex project management methodologies into clear, actionable concepts for non-project roles. Strategic & Tactical Balance: The ability to design the high-level culture strategy while simultaneously rolling up your sleeves to build training materials and Jira templates.
