We are seeking an experienced Biomass Resource Assessment Lead to support a high-impact clean cooking initiative in Angola. This is a project-based role focused on the viability of a decentralized biomass pellet programme at scale. While the role will involve field deployment in Angola, we are open to candidates based globally, provided they bring the right technical expertise, language capability, and willingness to travel. The Role You will lead the programme, assessing: Biomass availability and sustainable supply potential Feedstock suitability for pellet production Supply chain risks, seasonality, and competing uses Logistics, transport radius, and delivered cost modelling Preliminary pellet production economics vs. alternative fuels Your work will directly inform a strategic decision and shape the future of clean cooking in the region. What We’re Looking For Proven experience in biomass, bioenergy, or renewable energy project development Strong understanding of biomass supply chains, feedstock assessment, and logistics modelling Experience in early-stage feasibility or techno-economic analysis Ability to operate in emerging markets / low-data environments Strong stakeholder engagement and fieldwork experience Why Join This Project Play a key role in a large-scale clean cooking initiative with real environmental and social impact Work at the intersection of energy access, carbon, and circular economy Contribute to a Decision Gate study that will shape investment and implementation strategy Collaborate with international stakeholders across energy, sustainability, and development sectors This role is critical in determining the viability of the biomass pellet program.
