Remote Senior Curriculum Developer - K-12 Online Education

Our client, a leading innovator in the K-12 online education space, is seeking a highly creative and experienced Remote Senior Curriculum Developer. This position is crucial in designing and developing engaging, effective, and standards-aligned curriculum for a variety of subjects and grade levels delivered through our client's advanced online learning platform. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of instructional design principles, educational technology, and K-12 learning standards. You will work collaboratively with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and educational technologists to create high-quality digital learning experiences that cater to diverse student needs and learning styles. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US. Key Responsibilities include: Design and develop comprehensive curriculum materials, including lesson plans, learning activities, assessments, and instructional content for online delivery. Ensure curriculum alignment with state and national educational standards (e.g., Common Core, NGSS). Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate their knowledge into effective online learning modules. Apply principles of instructional design, adult learning theory, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to create engaging and accessible content. Develop and implement engaging multimedia elements, interactive exercises, and formative/summative assessments. Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) and other authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) to build and deploy curriculum. Conduct needs analyses and pilot new curriculum components, gathering feedback for continuous improvement. Stay current with best practices in online education, instructional design, and educational technology trends. Manage multiple curriculum development projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and quality standards. Contribute to the development of curriculum design guidelines and best practices. Qualifications: Master's degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Instructional Design, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in curriculum development, with a significant focus on K-12 education and online/digital learning environments. Proven ability to design engaging and effective learning experiences for diverse student populations. In-depth knowledge of K-12 curriculum standards and assessment design. Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate). Strong understanding of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and educational technology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate in a remote team setting. Experience with multimedia development (video, audio, graphics) is a plus.
