Software Engineer (I-II), Prototype
True Anomaly is a company focused on building technology for space superiority. They are seeking a Software Prototype Engineer to rapidly transform business questions into working applications and automated workflows, collaborating directly with executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Build rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept applications to answer executive-level business questions
- Explore and integrate existing corporate APIs, databases, and infrastructure to automate reporting and organizational workflows
- Design and implement data pipelines that synthesize information across multiple systems
- Transform manual processes into automated solutions with appropriate error handling and monitoring
- Collaborate directly with executive stakeholders to understand requirements and iterate on solutions
- Maintain clear documentation and write maintainable code despite aggressive timelines
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (particularly Claude) to accelerate development cycles
- Evaluate and adopt appropriate technologies for each use case without over-engineering
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 0-4 years of software development experience across multiple languages and frameworks
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design
- Demonstrated ability to build working applications from ambiguous requirements
- Experience with REST APIs, authentication protocols, and common integration patterns
- Proficiency in at least two of: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or similar modern languages
- Practical experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data transformation
- Track record of shipping projects quickly without sacrificing code quality
- Work Location—Successful candidates will be located near Denver or Colorado Springs. While we observe a hybrid work environment, some work must be done on site

- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
- Experience working directly with executive or senior leadership teams
- Proven ability to use AI-assisted development tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.) effectively
- Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or automation workflows
- Knowledge of data visualization libraries and frameworks
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments with shifting priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for non-technical audiences
- Natural curiosity and self-directed learning ability
- Experience with ETL/data pipeline tools and orchestration frameworks
