Electrical Engineer
MacKay is an infrastructure and environmental services firm seeking a driven and relationship-focused Electrical Engineer to join their team in Fort Collins, CO. This role involves designing power systems, conducting arc-flash studies, and overseeing construction projects to meet client needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering calculations for low and medium-voltage power distribution and motor control, including:
- Short circuit current calculations
- Voltage drop calculations
- Breaker coordination studies
- ArcFlash Analysis
- Oversee construction projects as the client representative
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal organizations, groups, team members, and individuals
- Perform analyses, prepare construction drawings, and write specifications for electrical packages
- Lead design development for smaller or less complex projects and support senior engineers on technically advanced projects
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 0-4 years of relevant experience in industrial and/or commercial design projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience with low-voltage power design and instrumentation design
- Field experience with troubleshooting and installing systems
- Experience with process design of instrumentation and controls systems for water treatment and industrial facilities
- Knowledge of SCADA systems operation and design
- Knowledge of instruments to fit process requirements and coordination with overall SCADA & PLC systems
