[Remote] Interactive Media Designer - Early Career
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Lockheed Martin is a leader in aerospace and defense, seeking a full-time Early Career Interactive Media Designer to join their Information Systems & Innovation organization. This role involves supporting the design and research for mobile, web, and desktop applications, collaborating with the Design Lead to create intuitive user experiences and graphical assets.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Design Lead to translate product visions into intuitive user experiences
- Assist on design projects from concept through delivery, including:
- User research planning and execution (surveys, contextual interviews, usability testing)
- Creation of personas, journey maps, and experience flows
- Development of low and high fidelity wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes
- Production of UI assets (icons, illustrations, logos) and graphic deliverables (presentation decks, digital forms)
- Support for web application and mobile app UI design, ensuring consistency across platforms
- Maintain design libraries and component systems in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Apply AI enabled design capabilities to accelerate workflows and iterate quickly
- Conduct user testing sessions, gather feedback, analyze results, and iterate designs based on insights
- Prepare and present design artefacts (style guides, design specifications, interactive demos) for stakeholder reviews and cross functional hand offs
- Assist with graphic design tasks such as revamping PowerPoint presentations, designing digital forms, and creating brand aligned visual assets
- Stay current on design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, sharing knowledge with the team
- Produce technical presentations in support of Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)/guidance conferences, IPT meetings, program reviews, and summits
- Submit weekly project and status reports
- Work with Technical Lead to align technical/business objectives with products
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field
- Experience with Figma (or a related tool such as sketch, Adobe XD etc...) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Ability to produce clear wireframes and functional prototypes for web and mobile interfaces
- Proficient in creating logos, icons, presentation decks, and digital forms with an eye for brand consistency
- Desire to learn and apply new technologies
- Ability to effectively work with internal & external customers
- Must be a US Citizen
- Has a broad portfolio showcasing UI design work, wireframes, prototypes, and any graphic design projects
- Willingness to deeply engage with the product and understand the user's experience from their perspective, including their challenges, needs, and pain points
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles
- Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and/or Video editing experience
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile development methodologies

- Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.
- Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
