Artist Resources Manager (Part-Time) at The Luminary Arts The Luminary is hiring a Program Manager to lead the next chapter of MAPS’ programs beginning in 2026. This role focuses on supporting artists by overseeing and promoting fiscal sponsorship, professional development workshops, and consultations. Working closely with The Luminary’s team, the Program Manager will help sustain and expand the reach of MAPS’ legacy while fostering sustainable futures for artists. Beginning in 2026, The Luminary will administer Midwest Artist Project Services (MAPS) programs, including fiscal sponsorship, artist consultations, Mock Grant Panel, and more. Familiarity with the region’s arts and culture landscape and grantmaking. Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously. Strong relationship‑building, communication, and facilitation skills. Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively with a small team. Passion for supporting artists and advancing equity in the arts. Experience with Quickbooks or other bookkeeping software is a bonus but not required.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Programs: Oversee the portfolio of MAPS programs (artist consultations, Mock Grant Panel, fiscal sponsorship program, and professional development workshops); manage recruitment of panelists and volunteers, scheduling, bookings, fundraising platforms, and event logistics. Communications and Marketing: Serve as primary contact for programs, respond to general inquiries, draft and distribute newsletters, manage social media, draft press releases, and document programs and events. Financial Oversight: Assist with record‑keeping; track, review and approve expenditure requests; generate reports; and regularly communicate with the accounting team. Development and Fundraising: Support fundraising efforts, prepare grant applications and reports, and conduct prospect research. Program Growth and Innovation: Identify and implement opportunities to expand services, enhance visibility, and strengthen sustainability. Position Summary The Artist Resources Manager will oversee and grow a portfolio of artist‑centered programs designed to provide fiscal sponsorship and professional development to individual artists, collectives, and emerging arts organizations. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple ongoing initiatives while working closely with community members. This role will also involve administrative duties, including managing communications and software platforms, maintaining records, fundraising, and grant reporting. This position has the opportunity to collaborate with The Luminary’s core staff around resource‑driven programs, like Futures Fund and Emerge Series. The Artist Resources Manager will work approximately 5‑10 hours per week with the potential to expand hours. The role will receive training, mentorship, and resources to ensure they have a strong knowledge of programs and are successful in their responsibilities.

Compensation

The Artist Resources Manager position is a contractor position that is paid $35 per hour.
