Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer who thrives in a cloud‑first environment and can translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions. You will work closely with data scientists, product owners, and engineering teams to deliver end‑to‑end data platforms that enable real‑time analytics, predictive modeling, and self‑service BI across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with source data application teams and product owners to design, develop, and maintain robust data ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hub, and Azure Databricks.
• Implement data lake storage solutions on Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and manage data warehousing layers in Azure Synapse Analytics and Snowflake.
• Build and optimize both batch and streaming data workflows, ensuring high reliability, low latency, and compliance with security standards.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, and Terraform to automate deployment, testing, and monitoring of data solutions.
• Design data models, data marts, and curated data sets that support analytics, reporting, and machine‑learning initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data quality metrics, implement data profiling, and enforce governance policies using tools such as Informatica Axon and BigID.
• Provide technical mentorship, conduct knowledge‑sharing sessions, and champion best practices in coding, testing, and security.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response for data platform reliability, troubleshooting performance bottlenecks, and driving continuous improvement.
• Document architecture diagrams, data flow specifications, and operational runbooks to ensure clear communication across stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands‑on data engineering experience building large‑scale data pipelines in a cloud environment (Azure preferred).
• Programming: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and experience with scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
• Data Platforms: Demonstrated experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or equivalent data warehousing technologies.
• Streaming Technologies: Experience building real‑time pipelines using Azure Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, or Apache Kafka.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, Terraform, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Data Modeling & ETL: Strong background in designing dimensional models, star schemas, and implementing ETL/ELT processes.
• BI Tools: Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker for delivering self‑service analytics.
