We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Part-Time Remote Fleet Engineering Support Specialist to join our Technical Operations Division. What You'll Do

As a Fleet Engineering Support Specialist (Engineer L2) on our A319/A320/A321 Fleet Engineering Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of our aircraft. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Operational Analysis: Stay informed about day-to-day airline operations within your field of responsibility, monitoring fleet performance and identifying areas that require engineering attention or intervention.
  • Priority Assessment: Evaluate and assess daily priorities in accordance with airline and departmental objectives, management directives, and emerging operational needs.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate aircraft and component problems that may cause flight delays, cancellations, substantial expenditures in manpower or materials, or interruptions in maintenance operations. Determine appropriate corrective actions and implement solutions efficiently.
  • Disposition Support: Provide comprehensive engineering support for the disposition of discrepant conditions affecting aircraft or components, working to restore serviceable status and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Technical Assistance: Respond to requests from Maintenance and other airline departments when technical assistance is required to support special projects or resolve complex problems.
  • Project Development: Develop action plans for fleet and multi-fleet engineering projects, as well as component engineering initiatives, and pursue final dispositions according to assessed priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with other airline departments as required to provide effective and efficient implementation of engineering dispositions, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed Engineering documents to implement technical dispositions by providing customized procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance actions that deliver measurable benefits in accordance with departmental objectives.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The following qualifications are required:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Aviation Industry Experience: Prior experience in the aviation or aerospace industry, preferably in a maintenance, engineering, or operations capacity. Understanding of transport category aircraft systems is highly desirable.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of aircraft systems, components, and maintenance procedures. Familiarity with A319/A320/A321 aircraft families is a strong plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to investigate complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other standard engineering software tools.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will help you stand out:

  • Advanced Certifications: FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Fleet-Specific Experience: Previous experience working with A320 family aircraft (A319, A320, A321) is a significant advantage.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of successfully delivering engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Technical Writing: Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including engineering orders, procedures, and reports.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively across multiple departments, including Maintenance, Operations, and Quality Assurance.
