Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of HR Information Systems Analyst. This position is designed for professionals who have a strong background in data analysis, reporting, and HR systems management. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and a proven track record of implementing process improvements within HR technology environments.

As a member of our HRIS team, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our human resources information systems, ensuring data accuracy, and providing insightful reporting capabilities to support business objectives. This role requires a candidate who can successfully balance multiple priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

The HR Information Systems Analyst will be responsible for a comprehensive range of duties that support the effectiveness and efficiency of our HR technology infrastructure. The following responsibilities outline the primary expectations for this role:

  • System Configuration and Support: Perform system configuration, coordination, and ongoing maintenance of HRIS functionality. Prepare user test plans and effectively communicate testing requirements to stakeholders. Manage support for assigned HR applications and ensure optimal system performance.
  • End-User Assistance: Provide direct support to end-users through system configuration guidance and recommendations to enhance user experience. Research and approve system access requests in accordance with security protocols and organizational guidelines. Deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Execute test scripts for validating new data elements and system releases. Document and analyze test results thoroughly. Identify discrepancies and work with technical teams to resolve issues before deployment.
  • Documentation Development: Develop comprehensive system and procedure documentation to support communication of new processes, implementations, and to facilitate user training initiatives. Create training materials, user guides, and reference documentation as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with HR, IT, Finance, Payroll, and other relevant departments to deliver robust and well-supported data integrations between applicable systems. Ensure data flows accurately between systems and maintains integrity across the enterprise.
  • Data Quality Management: Perform routine data quality assessments to identify data issues and report findings to HRIS Management. Implement data cleansing initiatives and establish best practices for data integrity.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Consult with end-users on basic to mid-level reporting solutions. Determine how data can be utilized to support consumer reporting desires and business decisions. Design and execute standard and ad-hoc reports to retrieve data from multiple sources and systems.
  • Advanced Data Processing: Work with Business Intelligence tools and/or Microsoft Excel or Access to perform specialized formatting, analysis, and processing of reports. Utilize advanced spreadsheet functions including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, and data visualization techniques.
  • Query Development: Develop complex queries and reports for analysis of employee-related data. Consult with business customers to identify data and reporting requirements. Through trend analysis, make recommendations and identify opportunities for improvement to HR functional areas.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Document reasons for data and implications of data analyses to customers. Express and interpret technical terminology to non-technical audiences effectively. Present findings and recommendations to leadership and department heads.
  • Strategic Analysis: Analyze and compare historical HR data from multiple systems and make recommendations to appropriate stakeholders. Create, prepare, and present various reports to senior management and departments on HR department data, trends, and outcomes.
  • Project Involvement: Provide assistance on initiatives and may lead and implement a phase of a larger HRIS project including testing and documentation. Coordinate project team activities and tasks to ensure successful delivery.
  • Process Improvement: Partner with regions consisting of HR, IT, Finance, and Payroll to help decorate center HR structures, data analysis and reporting, while handling ambiguity, risk, and converting path of initiatives to meet deadlines. Makes suggestions on procedure and system improvements.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following essential qualifications and competencies:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field; OR a High School Diploma / GED with at least three years of experience studying and reporting data (i.e., Human Resources data, financial analysis, data integrity) and data administration.
  • Technical Experience: Experience configuring, enhancing, and testing HRIS systems including SAP/EC or similar HR technology platforms.
  • Customer Service: Experience providing customer support to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and assessment of customer satisfaction.
  • Analytical Skills: Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify troubles, trends, or exceptions to drive the improvement of effects and discover solutions.
  • Self-Direction: Experience developing approaches of engaging in goals with very little supervision, relying on oneself to complete goals and identifying when escalation of troubles is necessary.
  • Microsoft Excel Proficiency: Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including using SUM function, setting borders, adjusting column width, creating charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers, and print scaling capabilities.
  • Travel Availability: Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes (in-state and out-of-state).

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desired and will enhance your candidacy for this position:

  • SQL Proficiency: Basic to intermediate proficiency in SQL (for example: building queries, adding, modifying, and deleting data; creating and maintaining tables, querying and updating databases using SQL statements) or other data-writing applications such as Business Objects, Cognos, or Crystal Reports.
  • Time Management: Experience with time management competencies including prioritizing, organizing, and monitoring information and meeting deadlines of multiple initiatives with various final touch dates.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management including planning, organizing, and managing resources to achieve successful completion of project goals and objectives.
  • Technical Communication: Experience communicating technical information to non-technical audiences in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Requirements Gathering: Experience collecting requirements, developing solutions, and integrating cross-functional system solutions.
  • HRIS Support: Direct experience supporting HRIS systems in a corporate environment.
  • SAP Experience: Experience with SAP Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll, learning management systems, performance management, and succession planning.
  • HR Knowledge: Knowledge of Human Resources concepts, practices, and techniques including Benefits, Payroll, Employee Relations, Performance Management, and Training.
  • Microsoft Access: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Access including opening tables in datasheet view, entering data, filtering data, creating forms, editing form layouts, applying themes, running, sorting, and saving queries, creating and formatting reports, converting reports, including images, printing labels, navigating through records, and exporting to Excel.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint: Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint including inserting, rearranging, hiding, and deleting slides, navigating between slides, creating lists, adding, centering, and editing text, converting views, inserting tables or notes, moving objects, printing outline view, and running slide shows.
  • Microsoft Word: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word including opening documents, cutting, pasting, and aligning text, selecting font type and size, converting margins and column width, sorting, adding bullets, pictures, and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane, and print functions.
