Position Overview – Data Entry Analyst (Summer Intern)

Location: Atlanta, GA or Minneapolis‑St. Paul, MN (hybrid work model – a blend of on‑site collaboration and remote flexibility). This 13‑week full‑time internship (May 13 – August 9, 2024) is designed for students who are eager to apply their academic knowledge to solve complex business problems, develop Python and SQL scripts, and build predictive models that directly influence arenaflex’s strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, cleanse, and integrate data from multiple internal and external sources, ensuring data integrity and compliance with arenaflex’s data governance standards.
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Design, train, and evaluate machine‑learning models that forecast operational trends, such as passenger demand, cargo volumes, and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with senior data scientists, business analysts, and domain experts to translate business questions into analytical solutions.
  • Prepare clear, concise visualizations and presentations that communicate findings to Operations Research and Business Leaders.
  • Participate in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings within an Agile framework.
  • Document code, methodologies, and data pipelines to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, recommending automation or analytical enhancements that drive efficiency.
  • Adhere to safety, security, and privacy protocols, safeguarding both personal and corporate data.
  • Deliver a comprehensive final project presentation at the end of the internship, highlighting impact, challenges, and next steps.

Essential Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program (minimum 2 years completed) with a focus on Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Proficiency in Python (including libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn, and matplotlib) and SQL (experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while actively seeking guidance and feedback when needed.
