About arenaflex – A Leader in Pharmacy & Healthcare Services

arenaflex is a nationally recognized pharmacy and health‑care organization with a legacy of more than a century in delivering compassionate, patient‑focused services. Operating thousands of retail locations across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, arenaflex serves nearly 10 million customers each day. Our mission is to improve lives by providing accessible, high‑quality health solutions, and we achieve this through a seamless omnichannel experience that blends physical stores, digital platforms, and cutting‑edge technology. As a remote member of the arenaflex family, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that patients receive accurate medication information, timely assistance, and a caring voice on the other end of the line.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s fast‑paced health‑care environment, accurate data entry and clear communication are the backbone of safe medication dispensing and patient satisfaction. As a Call Center Representative – Data Entry you will be the first point of contact for patients, prescribers, and health‑care providers, handling high‑volume inquiries, processing medication orders, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Your work directly impacts patient safety, medication adherence, and the overall reputation of arenaflex as a trusted health partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize arenaflex’s proprietary medication information entry system to accurately capture patient enrollment, prescription details, and refill requests.
  • Handle inbound calls, emails, and chat messages from patients, answering questions about medication availability, dosage instructions, and insurance coverage.
  • Initiate outbound communications to prescribers, pharmacies, and patients to resolve discrepancies, obtain missing information, and confirm prescription details.
  • Interpret and enter SIG (prescription direction) codes, ensuring they are correctly reflected in the system for safe dispensing.
  • Investigate and resolve data‑related issues, such as missing insurance information, incomplete patient profiles, or medication conflicts.
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA privacy rules and arenaflex’s internal data‑security protocols while handling sensitive health information.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians, both on‑site and remote, to streamline workflow and address escalated concerns.
  • Document all interactions in the customer relationship management (CRM) system, providing clear notes for future reference.
  • Achieve performance metrics related to call handling time, accuracy rates, and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay current with new pharmacy software updates, regulatory changes, and best practices.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education in health‑care administration or related fields is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a pharmacy or call‑center environment, preferably with exposure to medication data entry.
  • Proficient computer skills: ability to start and close applications, navigate between programs, save and print documents, and browse the internet efficiently.
  • Basic web navigation abilities, including entering URLs, using search engines, bookmarking pages, and navigating with back/forward controls.
  • Keyboarding speed of at least 25 words per minute (WPM) with a focus on accuracy; higher speed (35 WPM) is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey information clearly and empathetically.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • 1–2 years of pharmacy experience in a retail or call‑center setting, with a solid understanding of prescription processing.
  • Certification or licensure from a state pharmacy board (or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire).
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high‑quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced typing speed of 35 WPM or higher, with the ability to type from memory while maintaining accuracy.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, enabling you to assist a diverse patient population.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices for protecting patient privacy.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities, with a track record of identifying data gaps and implementing corrective actions.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment while staying aligned with team goals and company standards.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Attention to Detail: Precise entry of medication data and careful verification of patient information.
  • Empathy & Communication: Ability to listen actively, respond compassionately, and explain complex pharmacy concepts in plain language.
  • Time Management: Efficiently handle high call volumes while meeting quality and compliance standards.
  • Technical Agility: Quick adaptation to new software tools, updates, and workflow changes.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacy technicians, supervisors, and other support staff to resolve issues promptly.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Consistent adherence to HIPAA, state pharmacy laws, and arenaflex internal policies.

  • Structured onboarding and mentorship programs that guide you through the first 90 days and beyond.
  • Continuous learning modules covering advanced pharmacy systems, regulatory updates, and customer‑service excellence.
  • Opportunities to pursue additional certifications, such as Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or specialized HIPAA compliance training.
  • Clear career pathways toward senior support roles, quality assurance, training, or even supervisory positions within the broader arenaflex network.
  • Cross‑functional exposure to other arenaflex departments, including pharmacy operations, IT, and compliance, allowing you to broaden your skill set.
