Key Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and nurturing new and existing relationships with our broker partners. This role balances a sales and service mindset by building long-term relationships within our customer channels and successfully executing accountabilities that support the company’s growth strategy. Business Development and Planning Develop a growth strategy focused on mortgage broker satisfaction and building long-term relationships Identify potential clients whose needs align with Alta West Capital’s product offerings Arrange and conduct visits with new and existing mortgage broker referral partners throughout an assigned territory Work cohesively with the Chief Sales Officer and the business development team to identify opportunities to grow the business Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the overall industry, competition, industry trends, and market conditions Customer Relations and Marketing Provide feedback to clients and ensure after-sales support Attend and represent Alta West Capital at industry events; some out-of-city travel and overnight stays may be required Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions while representing the company Reporting and Process Improvement Prepare weekly sales itineraries and appointment schedules, including corresponding narrative reports for broker visits Compile detailed expense and mileage reports monthly Prepare quarterly and annual business plans Attend weekly conference calls with the senior management team to report on volumes, trends, industry news, issues, and strategies Communicate effectively with the underwriting team and other colleagues to identify process improvements that enhance the overall broker experience Perform other related duties that support the goals and objectives of the organization Skills and Qualifications Post-secondary diploma or degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. A combination of education and industry experience will also be considered Three to five years of mortgage industry experience Ability to continuously maintain Mortgage Agent licensing for the province(s) of the assigned territory Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle to travel throughout the assigned territory Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and related KPIs in a pay-for-performance organization Exceptional ethics and proven ability to resolve complex client issues to a positive resolution. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills Strong analytical, negotiation, project management, and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce experience is preferred. Willingness and ability to learn other role-related software is required Good understanding of social media use in a professional context
