Position Overview

As a Remote Pharmacy Data Entry & Technician Specialist at arenaflex, you will serve as a critical link between patients, pharmacists, and healthcare providers. Key Responsibilities

As a valued member of the arenaflex pharmacy team, your duties will encompass a wide range of essential functions, including but not limited to:

  • Prescription Data Processing: Utilize advanced pharmacy management systems to accurately enter patient and prescription information, ensuring all data is captured correctly and efficiently. Retrieve, count, measure, and verify pharmaceutical products with precision to support prescription fulfillment.
  • Pharmacist Support: Work under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists to assist in the practice of pharmacy in compliance with all state, federal, and arenaflex policies. Collaborate with pharmacists to maintain optimal workflow and address any prescription discrepancies.
  • Customer & Patient Engagement: Interact with patients, customers, and healthcare providers via phone, email, and digital platforms. Greet and assist individuals with their inquiries, resolve concerns, and provide guidance on services and products to ensure a consistently positive experience.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Adhere strictly to arenaflex's policies regarding good faith dispensing, error reporting, and the continuous quality improvement program. Immediately report any prescription errors to the supervising pharmacist and follow established protocols to mitigate risks.
  • Cash Register & Financial Transactions: Register all related sales on assigned cash registers, handle monetary transactions with accuracy, and assist customers in locating over-the-counter products when appropriate.
  • Clerical & Administrative Duties: Process and resubmit manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner. Perform various clerical tasks as assigned by the pharmacy manager to support seamless operations.
  • Inventory Management Support: Assist in stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, verifying, and properly storing prescription medications. Maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques and document any inventory discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods.
  • Medical Service Coordination: Support pharmacists in administering medical services such as the proper collection and labeling of biological samples. Coordinate with healthcare clinics, external vendors, and pharmacy staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Community Outreach: Assist the pharmacy supervisor in building and maintaining strong relationships with local healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, retirement homes, nursing homes, and community health organizations.
  • Workplace Maintenance: Ensure the pharmacy department remains well-stocked, clean, neat, and orderly, contributing to a professional and welcoming environment for all team members and patients.

This apprenticeship serves as a powerful entry point into the healthcare field, guiding you step-by-step toward becoming a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified professional.

Through this program, you will:

  • Earn and maintain PTCB Certification through structured training and examination preparation.
  • Complete required Performance Learning Plans (PPLs) and continuing education credits as directed by management.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in healthcare and pharmacy practice.
  • Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, earn up to 8 college credit hours recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE)—3 semester hours at the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category and 5 semester hours at the upper-division baccalaureate degree category.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Must be a U.S. resident and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have reliable high-speed internet access and a dedicated, quiet workspace suitable for remote work.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and any required drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six months of experience in a retail, pharmacy, or customer service environment.
  • Previous work experience with arenaflex or a similar pharmacy organization.
  • Strong mathematical skills with the ability to perform accurate calculations for prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with data entry systems, Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Current PTCB certification (preferred but not required; training will be provided).
