Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Build the Backbone of Next-Generation Fulfillment with arenaflex

At arenaflex, we are reimagining the future of online commerce, one facility at a time. Our global reputation for delivering an unparalleled customer experience is built on a powerful, highly technical foundation of fulfillment centers, distribution hubs, and logistics campuses that span continents. The physical infrastructure behind every package shipped, every order fulfilled, and every promise kept to a customer begins with exceptional construction leadership — and that is exactly where you come in.

arenaflex's North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) organization is searching for a seasoned, strategic, and hands-on Construction Manager to take ownership of large-scale new construction, complex renovations, and tenant improvement projects across the United States. This is not a desk-only role. It is a high-impact, field-driven opportunity for a construction professional who thrives on managing multi-million-dollar capital projects from concept through commissioning, collaborating with world-class developers, general contractors, and internal technical teams, and seeing tangible results take shape in the form of world-class facilities that power the arenaflex customer experience.

If you have a passion for building, a head for numbers, and a heart for leading cross-functional teams through ambitious, schedule-driven work, this role offers the platform, autonomy, and scale you have been looking for.

About the Role

The Construction Manager – North America Customer Fulfillment will act as arenaflex's primary on-the-ground representative and direct point of interface with external developers, general contractors, design professionals, and regulatory authorities. You will serve as the critical integrator between construction execution and the internal arenaflex teams responsible for equipping, furnishing, and operating our fulfillment centers — known internally as FCs.

This opportunity uniquely blends the disciplines of construction engineering, capital project management, facilities management, planning, and contract management into a single, dynamic role. The position is remote, with up to 60% regional travel, and may include site visits across virtually every state in the U.S. depending on business needs. You will be empowered to work independently in your assigned region, with the backing of a highly experienced leadership team and a network of technical partners across North America.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Capital Delivery

  • Lead full project lifecycle management for new construction of arenaflex Fulfillment Centers throughout the United States, as well as renovations, tenant improvements, and capacity expansion projects within existing operational facilities.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects ranging from smaller interior renovations to large-scale new builds valued at $100M and beyond.
  • Operate independently within the assigned regional area, exercising strong judgment, prioritization, and self-direction with minimal oversight from senior leadership.

Design Coordination & Technical Oversight

  • Collaborate closely with internal technical teams, operational customers, and external design partners to develop, review, and refine construction scopes that align with arenaflex design parameters.
  • Provide clear technical direction on AutoCAD drawings, building layouts, build details, schedules, materials, and engineering design standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, technical analyses, specifications, and documentation that fully define design requirements, equipment needs, and service requirements for capacity expansion and remodel projects.
  • Conduct facility surveys and develop audit procedures, evaluations, and analytical recommendations related to infrastructure integrity, safety, and security — both for the building itself and for the people who work inside it.

Contract Management & Negotiation

  • Negotiate contracts, change orders, and amendments with developers and general contractors, preparing and presenting formal documentation for internal approval as required.
  • Ensure all contracts are fit for purpose, cost-effective, and include appropriate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that align with arenaflex's operational and safety expectations.
  • Establish, operate, and continuously improve the information systems required to schedule, track, and record all contract work accurately.

Site Management, Cost Control & Schedule Performance

  • Provide overall site management, coordination, planning, and subcontractor oversight across all active projects.
  • Track, forecast, and manage budgets for assigned expansion, remodel, and new build projects, ensuring financial discipline throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Receive, review, and analyze proposed cost and time change requests from external project teams, negotiating favorable outcomes for arenaflex.
  • Evaluate internally requested changes for validity and impact, ensuring timely and cost-sensitive incorporation once approved.
  • Monitor project performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability, taking corrective action wherever necessary.

Stakeholder Communication & Cross-Team Integration

  • Maintain positive, clear, concise, and transparent cross-team communication across all aspects of project delivery, from initial concept through final turnover.
  • Partner with internal teams responsible for transitioning base building management and ensuring complete, accurate turnover documentation at project completion.
  • Identify and resolve clashes, design gaps, and schedule conflicts with other arenaflex execution teams in a collaborative, solution-oriented manner.
  • Lead or assist in negotiations with regulatory bodies, permitting authorities, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) entities as required for each project.

Team Coaching & Continuous Improvement

  • Coach, mentor, and guide all project teams — including developers, design engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders — throughout every phase of the project lifecycle.
  • Audit contractors to confirm that labor skills and competencies match the work being performed, addressing under-performance issues promptly and professionally.
  • Communicate projected changes in resource or work demand to developers and contractors so they can plan and act accordingly.
  • Conduct critical reviews of current design standards, identifying value engineering and design enhancement opportunities to share with internal engineering and schematic design partners.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline — or equivalent practical experience demonstrating comparable expertise.
  • Significant, progressively responsible experience in commercial or industrial construction project management, ideally including large-scale new build and renovation work valued at $50M or more.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects, including direct oversight of general contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, permitting processes, and contract structures.
  • Solid technical proficiency with AutoCAD and the ability to review and interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Proven track record of negotiating contracts and change orders while protecting cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% regionally, with flexibility to support projects across all of North America as business needs dictate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience delivering projects in the e-commerce, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or data center sectors — environments where speed, scale, and operational continuity are paramount.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks, LEED certification processes, or other green building standards.
  • Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or PE (Professional Engineer) licensure.
  • Experience working in a remote, matrixed organization with the autonomy to manage projects across a wide geographic region.
  • Working knowledge of building information modeling (BIM), scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project, and project management information systems (PMIS).

Skills and Competencies for Success

  • Strategic Thinking: The ability to see the big picture while managing the smallest details, balancing competing priorities across multiple projects.
  • Influential Leadership: Comfortable directing general contractors, designers, and cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong financial acumen with the ability to build, defend, and manage multi-million-dollar budgets.
  • Resilience and Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where priorities shift and innovation is the norm.
  • Customer Obsession: A relentless focus on delivering facilities that enable arenaflex to delight its end customers.
  • Bias for Action: A self-starter mentality with the energy and discipline to drive projects forward with minimal supervision.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At arenaflex, construction is not a back-office function — it is a strategic capability that sits at the heart of how we serve customers. Joining the NACF Construction team means stepping into a high-visibility role with clear pathways for advancement into senior construction leadership, regional portfolio management, or specialized technical tracks. You will work alongside some of the most experienced construction professionals in the industry, gain exposure to innovative facility designs, and contribute to a portfolio that continues to expand at an extraordinary pace. We invest in our people through mentorship, continuing education support, professional certification sponsorship, and internal mobility programs designed to help you grow your career wherever your ambitions lead.

While specifics vary by location, our benefits typically include medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement savings plans, paid time off, parental leave, life and disability insurance, and a variety of additional perks such as employee discounts and wellness resources.
