The Opportunity We are looking for a contract software developer to help us build and harden StaydOS, the internal software platform that powers how our portfolio runs. This is a focused, 60-day engagement with a clear mandate: bring real engineering discipline to software we've been building fast. A lot of our current tooling has been built quickly with AI assistance. We need someone who can come in behind that work, clean it up, and turn it into something we can confidently scale: solid architecture, sound data modeling, and proper security. This is hands-on, senior-judgment work. You won't manage anyone; you'll ship, refactor, and make the codebase production-ready. We operate with urgency and precision. Our culture is built around three core values: Solutions Oriented – you solve problems, not point them out Move Fast – you operate with urgency and bias toward action No Ego – you collaborate, take feedback, and prioritize the team over individual credit What You'll Own Code Quality & Refactoring Review, refactor, and harden rapidly built ("vibe-coded" / AI-generated) software into clean, maintainable, production-grade code Identify technical debt and weak points, and proactively propose and implement fixes Establish patterns and standards the team can build on after the engagement ends Supabase Architecture & Security Own and improve our Supabase architecture, including schema design, row-level security, auth, and access policies Implement security best practices across our custom internal tools (auth flows, secrets handling, data protection) Audit existing data models and access controls and close gaps StaydOS Feature Development Build and extend features for StaydOS as priorities require Work across backend and frontend in modern JS/TS stacks Ship quickly and reliably with strong attention to quality Documentation & Handoff Document what you build so the work is maintainable after the contract ends Collaborate async and on calls with the Stay'd team, with reliable overlap during US working hours
What We're Looking For
AI-native developer: you use AI coding tools daily and know their failure modes; you can tell solid AI-generated code from code that will break in production Strong on architecture: you can take messy, fast-built software and turn it into something structured, scalable, and secure Supabase / Postgres fluent: real experience with Supabase (or comparable Postgres-backed stacks), including schema design, RLS, auth, and APIs Security-minded: you think about auth, permissions, secrets, and data protection by default Full-stack capable: comfortable across backend and frontend; modern JS/TS stacks preferred Self-directed: you operate well remotely with minimal hand-holding and a strong bias toward action Available immediately: you can start now and commit to the full 60-day engagement Someone who embodies our core values: Solutions Oriented, Move Fast, No Ego Experience hardening or rescuing AI-generated / no-code / low-code codebases is a strong plus Role Details Location: Remote, Pakistan (with overlap during US working hours) Term: 60-day contract (possibility of extension by mutual agreement) Start: Immediate (high priority) Engagement: Independent contractor Compensation: $8,000 to $10,000 USD for the full 60-day engagement.
