This full‑time role offers a competitive hourly rate of $24 and provides a unique opportunity to manage and safeguard the company’s critical storage infrastructure, including SAN, NAS, and DAS environments. The successful candidate will act as a subject‑matter expert, driving best‑practice implementation, performance optimization, and security compliance across a diverse portfolio of storage platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Storage Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise‑grade storage solutions (SAN, NAS, DAS) that align with arenaflex’s business objectives and growth trajectory.
  • Develop and enforce storage capacity planning strategies, ensuring optimal utilization, scalability, and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with architecture, networking, and application teams to define storage requirements and integration points for new projects.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and deployment of emerging storage technologies, providing recommendations based on performance benchmarks and ROI analysis.

Operational Excellence & Security

  • Monitor storage health, performance metrics, and capacity trends using industry‑standard tools; proactively address potential bottlenecks before they impact production workloads.
  • Implement and maintain data protection policies, including snapshots, replication, backup, and disaster‑recovery procedures, in accordance with corporate security standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Apply security patches, firmware updates, and configuration hardening to all storage arrays, ensuring a resilient defense against emerging threats.
  • Document and communicate storage incidents, root‑cause analyses, and remediation steps to senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Serve as the primary liaison between storage engineering and other technology groups (servers, virtualization, networking, database, and application development) to guarantee seamless integration and performance.
  • Produce clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for standard operating procedures, configuration baselines, and change‑management records.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation and incident response, delivering timely resolution and post‑mortem reporting for critical storage events.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience managing enterprise storage environments, with a focus on systems administration and capacity planning.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience designing, deploying, and supporting large‑scale SAN architectures (e.g., Fibre Channel, iSCSI) and NAS solutions (CIFS/SMB, NFS, S3).
  • Vendor Knowledge: In‑depth familiarity with Dell EMC, Cisco, NetApp, or comparable OEM storage platforms.
  • Security Acumen: Strong understanding of data encryption, access controls, and industry‑standard security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in both Linux and Windows server environments, including command‑line administration and scripting.
  • Virtualization: Experience with VMware vSphere storage integration, including VMFS, vSAN, and storage‑policy based management.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as Dell EMC Proven Professional, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Data Center, or VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud storage services (AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage) and hybrid cloud integration.
  • Knowledge of data replication technologies (e.g., SRDF, SnapMirror) and disaster‑recovery orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation of routine storage tasks.
  • Prior involvement in capacity‑forecasting projects that resulted in measurable cost savings or performance improvements.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex storage problems, identify root causes, and devise effective solutions.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated capability to lead storage‑related initiatives from conception through deployment, adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment, with the agility to pivot priorities as business needs shift.
  • Team Collaboration: Proven track record of partnering with cross‑functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
  • Documentation Discipline: Commitment to maintaining accurate, up‑to‑date technical records that support compliance and knowledge transfer.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Focus on delivering reliable storage services that enable business units to meet their own customer commitments.
