Why arenaflex?

At arenaflex, we are redefining the future of healthcare technology by blending cutting‑edge artificial intelligence (AI) with deep industry expertise. Our mission is to empower the arenaflex health ecosystem with intelligent, proactive solutions that anticipate problems before they arise, improve operational efficiency, and elevate the quality of care for millions of members. As a fast‑growing, innovation‑focused organization, we offer a collaborative, high‑energy environment where every team member can make a tangible impact on the health and well‑being of our users.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Part‑Time Remote Data Scientist to join our AI Operations (AIOps) team. In this role, you will partner with senior engineers, product managers, and data engineers to design, develop, and scale AI‑powered solutions that monitor, predict, and remediate issues across our massive cloud infrastructure. Your work will directly influence the reliability, performance, and security of the arenaflex health platform, ensuring that critical services remain available and resilient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into robust AI and machine‑learning models.
  • Design, prototype, and implement predictive analytics pipelines that ingest and process terabytes of structured and unstructured data from cloud sources (e.g., GCP, AWS).
  • Develop and maintain production‑grade models using deep learning, statistical learning, and advanced analytics techniques to detect anomalies, forecast outages, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Integrate AI solutions with existing arenaflex services, ensuring seamless deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Write clean, well‑documented code in Python, R, and SQL; create reusable libraries and modular components for future projects.
  • Perform rigorous testing, validation, and performance tuning of models to meet strict latency and accuracy targets.
  • Document model architecture, data lineage, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Stay abreast of emerging AI/ML research, tools, and best practices, and proactively propose enhancements to our technology stack.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience developing AI/ML solutions for large‑scale data environments.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python (including libraries such as pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch), R, and SQL.
  • Data Expertise: Demonstrated ability to extract, clean, transform, and analyze data from heterogeneous sources, including relational databases, data lakes, and streaming platforms.
  • Modeling Knowledge: Strong foundation in statistical modeling, supervised and unsupervised learning, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of working effectively in a distributed, remote team environment.
  • Problem‑Solving: Creative thinker who can translate ambiguous business problems into concrete analytical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services) and big‑data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
  • Hands‑on experience building and deploying production‑grade AI models, including model monitoring and automated retraining pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AIOps concepts, IT operations analytics, and incident management workflows.
  • Background in healthcare or health‑insurance data, understanding of regulatory constraints (HIPAA, GDPR) and data privacy best practices.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines for ML model deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, provide strategic guidance, and influence roadmap decisions.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to design experiments, conduct hypothesis testing, and interpret results with statistical confidence.
  • Technical Agility: Quick learner who can adopt new tools, frameworks, and programming languages as project needs evolve.
  • Detail Orientation: Meticulous approach to data quality, model documentation, and reproducibility.
  • Team Spirit: Willingness to share knowledge, mentor peers, and contribute to a supportive, inclusive culture.
  • Customer Focus: Commitment to delivering solutions that improve the end‑user experience and drive measurable business value.
  • Ethical AI Awareness: Understanding of bias mitigation, fairness, and transparency in AI systems.

  • Cross‑functional rotations that broaden your expertise across data engineering, product management, and operations.
  • A clear promotion pathway from Associate Data Scientist to Senior Data Scientist, Principal Engineer, and AI Strategy Lead.
