Key Responsibilities
In this role, your main focus will be transcribing depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings. You will be responsible for accurately processing audio recordings, adhering to style guides, and producing verbatim transcripts. Attention to detail, a strong grasp of legal terminology, and excellent grammar skills are essential in this position. Flexible Schedule And Supportive Team As an independent contractor with VIQ Solutions, you will have the freedom to set your own schedule. Our in-office team will provide ongoing guidance and support whenever needed. We offer work opportunities 24/7/365 to accommodate any schedule, and we particularly encourage candidates with weekend availability to apply. Requirements ? Proven experience in court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription ? Strong listening skills and the ability to discern spoken words accurately ? Ability to meet deadlines and adhere to client-specific style guides ? Excellent literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar ? Proficient in remote collaboration ? Typing proficiency with both speed and accuracy ? Ability to handle extreme audio/text content, which may be offensive ? Successful completion of a background check ? Familiarity with legal terminology ?
