[Remote] Database Engineer

They are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to lead and scale their database infrastructure, focusing on schema modernization, query performance optimization, and data pipeline management while collaborating with various teams to support business growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale our database infrastructure
- Responsible for schema modernization, query performance optimization, data pipeline management, and cross-team database architecture
- Partner with product and quality engineering teams to support our fast-growing business
- Build and optimize the database systems that underpin Limble's platform and support the continued success of our expanding base of unsung heroes
Skills
- 10+ years of experience with relational databases: Examples: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL
- 5+ years with MySQL or MariaDB
- 5+ years of experience designing and building web applications
- Strong track record of building, optimizing, and scaling databases based on feedback from customers and internal teams
- Proven experience planning and executing large-scale schema migrations with minimal or zero downtime
- Strong understanding of query optimization, indexing strategies, and database performance tuning best practices
- Experience with change data capture (CDC) and ETL pipeline design and operations
- Strong track record of delivering projects with broad business impact across multiple teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Exceptional communication skills, with a history of successfully collaborating in a cross-functional team environment
- Attention to detail and quality
- Open to on-call rotation
- Experience coding with Node.js, Golang, and PHP a plus
- Experience with implementing and scaling NoSQL solutions a plus
