NewSpace Technical is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with expertise in Software Defined Radios and RF systems for a contract opportunity in the aerospace and defense sector. The role involves developing and integrating embedded software, networking infrastructure, and RF hardware to create high-performance communication systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate embedded software for Software Defined Radio (SDR) systems
- Implement and support Ethernet networking and Linux-based communication architectures
- Integrate IP networking stacks within embedded environments
- Work closely with RF and hardware engineering teams to support system-level integration
- Support development and optimisation of RF System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software, networking, and hardware integration issues
- Contribute to system testing, validation, and performance optimisation
Skills
- Strong embedded software development experience in C/C++ and Linux environments
- Experience developing or integrating Software Defined Radio (SDR) systems
- Knowledge of Ethernet networking and TCP/IP stack implementation
- Experience working with embedded Linux platforms
- Familiarity with RF System-on-Chip (SoC) technologies and architectures
- Strong debugging and system integration skills across hardware and software boundaries
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment
