Join us! Role Responsibilities Lead Enterprise Platforms. Enable Intelligent Government Services! Shape the future of digital government by driving enterprise platform strategy, innovation, and service excellence across the Government of Alberta. As the Manager, Platform Services, you will provide strategic leadership, governance, and operational oversight for enterprise platform capabilities across the Microsoft Dynamics and ServiceNow ecosystems within a “one-government” IMT model. You will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design, development, configuration, integration, and support of enterprise platforms, ensuring alignment with business priorities, enterprise architecture, and modern digital service standards. Reporting to senior IMT leadership, you will work closely with ministry partners, architects, vendors, and cross-government stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and reusable platform solutions that enable end-to-end digital services.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Strategy & Governance Lead platform strategy and roadmap development aligned with business priorities and enterprise direction. Oversee intake, assessment, and prioritization of platform initiatives and enhancements. Promote the use of AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve service delivery and efficiency. Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, policies, and cross-government IMT standards. Delivery & Service Management Oversee end-to-end change, release, and deployment activities ensuring controlled and reliable service delivery. Manage planning, prioritization, and coordination of platform enhancements, testing, and implementations. Monitor delivery performance, adjusting scope, resources, and timelines to meet commitments. Ensure compliance with ITSM practices, including incident, problem, and change management. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement Lead, coach, and develop a blended team of employees and contractors. Manage workload allocation, performance, and capability development. Build trusted relationships with business partners and provide strategic technology advice. Collaborate across government and with vendors to deliver integrated solutions. Vendor & Governance Oversight Lead procurement and contract management for external resources. Participate in governance forums, architecture reviews, and standards development. Ensure vendor performance, compliance, and delivery quality. Qualifications

Requirements: University graduation in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or a related field. 4 years of experience in MS Dynamics and/or ServiceNow and the practical use and implementation of the technologies or use of similar technologies. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a management/leadership position leading high performing technical teams with critical 24x7 operation support. Equivalencies: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education Assets: ITIL Foundation certification. Experience managing operational and project budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and vendor financial oversight. Experience managing vendors and system integrators, including contract oversight, performance management, and delivery accountability. Experience leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives across multiple business areas. Strong understanding of IT service management (ITSM), IT operations (ITOM), or enterprise service management (ESM) practices. Experience aligning technology solutions to business strategy and ministry priorities. Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive decision-making. Experience in performance management, coaching, and developing technical teams. Experience with IT governance, risk management, and security practices (e.g., STRA, PIA, compliance frameworks). Experience operating and governing enterprise platforms, including service ownership, lifecycle management, and platform standards. Experience in process development, service design, and organizational change management. Experience developing stakeholder engagement strategies and securing buy-in through to execution. Advanced experience leading large and complex initiatives involving multiple Ministry, Sector, and Enterprise stakeholders with competing priorities. Knowledge of, or ability to quickly gain knowledge of, the business plans, mandates, and strategic priorities of TSO (Technology Support & Operations). Ability to assess the impact of policy and technology changes on services. Ability to manage competing priorities. Experience in or a strong understanding of AI technologies and trends, with the ability to identify, adopt, and leverage AI-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency, and innovation.
