Why This Role Matters

Our Global Merchant and Network Services (GM&NS) Revenue team is the engine behind the largest source of revenue for arenaflex: merchant discount revenue. As a Part‑Time Financial Analyst specializing in data entry and revenue analysis, you will play a pivotal role in shaping pricing strategies, optimizing rebate programs, and delivering insights that directly influence the profitability of our merchant partners across Canada. This is more than a data entry job—it’s an opportunity to influence strategic decisions, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and contribute to the financial health of a world‑class organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and maintain monthly merchant rebate revenue tracking reports for the Canada region, comparing actual performance against forecasts and identifying key drivers of variance.
  • Develop and update merchant rebate revenue scorecards, providing clear visualizations and actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Drive data normalization and process harmonization across multiple pricing teams to ensure consistency in reporting and analysis.
  • Support external audits by investigating identified issues, coordinating with regional pricing teams, and managing remediation actions.
  • Conduct ad‑hoc data analyses to assess rebate rate fluctuations, uncover trends, and surface opportunities for revenue enhancement.
  • Collaborate closely with finance, product, and merchant partnership teams to translate raw data into strategic recommendations.
  • Maintain high‑quality data entry standards, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Continuously improve analytical processes by leveraging advanced Excel functions, SQL queries, and data visualization tools.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial services, payments industry, or a comparable finance‑focused role.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, array formulas, macros) and solid working knowledge of SQL for data extraction.
  • Analytical Ability: Demonstrated capacity to build complex financial models, interpret large data sets, and generate insights that add tangible business value.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities; capable of presenting findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of influencing cross‑functional teams and managing multiple stakeholder expectations.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data entry and analysis, with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Passion for understanding client needs and translating them into actionable financial solutions.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with statistical programming languages such as SAS, R, or Python.
  • Familiarity with payment processing systems, merchant discount structures, and rebate programs.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to lead initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Certification such as CFA, CPA, or related finance credentials.
  • Fluency in French or another second language, beneficial for serving bilingual regions in Canada.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Problem‑Solving: Ability to think creatively, challenge conventional approaches, and devise innovative solutions to complex financial challenges.
  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Comfort working with large data sets, extracting meaningful patterns, and making recommendations based on evidence.
  • Influence & Negotiation: Skill in building consensus, persuading stakeholders, and driving alignment across diverse teams.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly.
  • Integrity & Ethics: Commitment to upholding the highest standards of honesty and compliance in all financial activities.
