[Remote] Adjunct Assistant/Associate/Professor (Open Rank): Professional Development - Content and Pedagogy for Teaching Geometric Reasoning

They are seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to provide instructional support in mathematics content and pedagogy for a course designed for elementary and middle school teacher candidates, emphasizing geometric reasoning and instructional design.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support as a subject matter expert in mathematics content and pedagogy
• Guide candidates in analyzing student thinking, identifying misconceptions, and designing responsive instruction
• Maintain regular communication with candidates, evaluate assignments, provide meaningful written feedback, assign grades in the LMS, and contribute to course and program improvement through participation in faculty and advisory board meetings

Skills

• A minimum of five years of full-time experience as a P–12 mathematics teacher in a diverse school setting
• Experience in teacher education or leadership related to mathematics teaching and learning
• Candidates must hold a California Clear Credential in Foundational or Single Subject Mathematics with English Learner Authorization, or equivalent
• Graduate-level online teaching experience
• A PhD, EdD, or equivalent degree in an education-related field
• Current knowledge of California adopted P–12 mathematics content standards, frameworks, and accountability systems
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups
• Strong professional practice in teaching, learning, scholarship, and service
• Skill in supporting candidates' planning, diagnosis of mathematics difficulties, and development of instructional responses
• Experience teaching through Zoom and a Learning Management System
