About the Role: External Support Engineer

The Remote External Support Engineer at arenaflex is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support to external content creation teams who rely on the proprietary toolset developed by our internal engineering organization. This position serves as the vital bridge between content creators and the tools engineering team, ensuring that feedback flows seamlessly, issues are resolved efficiently, and workflows are continuously improved.

You will work remotely, collaborating with teams across multiple time zones, and play a key role in maintaining the reliability, scalability, and user-friendliness of our content production ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

As an External Support Engineer at arenaflex, your day-to-day responsibilities will be diverse, challenging, and deeply rewarding. You will:

  • Provide Technical Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for external content and production teams who need assistance using our suite of content tools. Respond to inquiries with empathy, expertise, and efficiency, ensuring that users feel heard and supported.
  • Create Reference Materials and Training Resources: Develop comprehensive documentation, tutorials, guides, and training materials that help external teams quickly get up to speed with the toolset. Design learning experiences that are clear, accessible, and engaging for users with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Debug and Resolve Issues: Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that arise with tools and workflows. Use your technical acumen to identify root causes, propose solutions, and ensure that users can return to their work with minimal disruption.
  • Escalate Complex Issues: When issues require deeper technical intervention, escalate them to the tool development team. Track these escalations using industry-standard defect tracking software such as JIRA, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the resolution process.
  • Advocate for Continuous Improvement: Act as the voice of the external teams. Gather feedback, identify patterns, and advocate for tool enhancements, workflow improvements, and feature requests that will elevate the user experience and drive operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Engineers: Collaborate with internal engineers to design, develop, and refine tools and processes that improve both efficiency and quality. Participate in cross-functional projects that push the boundaries of what our tools can achieve.
  • Lead Cross-Disciplinary Dialogs: Facilitate conversations between content teams, production leads, and engineering stakeholders. Guide discussions that drive features from initial concept through to completion, ensuring alignment across all parties.

Essential Skills and Abilities

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • iOS and Android mobile development experience, with an understanding of cross-platform considerations.
  • At least five years of experience delivering production-level code in a professional environment.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while collaborating with a distributed team. Our core business hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM CST, and you should be available for meetings and synchronous collaboration during this window.
