Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst and Reporting Specialist to join our team on a permanent basis. As a remote worker based in the USA, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining reports, providing departmental insights on performance, and building data models to solve various quantitative projects. You will work closely with our technology team to meet business needs and data warehouse services, ensuring seamless integration and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement new reports, as well as modify existing ones, to support business processes and data-driven decision-making.
  • Create effective dashboards using Power BI and Excel to provide actionable insights and drive business outcomes.
  • Develop and enforce robust Data Quality standards and controls to ensure data integrity and access.
  • Manage and create new report pipelines from source systems to the Data Warehouse, ensuring seamless data flow and integration.
  • Collaborate with Management and Business Analysts to identify business requirements, maintain comprehensive documentation, and obtain service sign-offs for all reporting requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable reporting pipelines and data models to support business growth and evolution.
  • Apply data storytelling principles to create clear and impactful data visualizations using Power BI, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions.
  • Assist in automating existing business processes and enhancing exception-based reporting to drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Work with IT and Business Analysts to investigate, research, and acquire new data variables, exploring new opportunities for business insights and growth.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify meaningful patterns and trends, providing actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Validate data for accuracy by verifying against established standards and resolving discrepancies.
  • Investigate data errors and remediate poor data quality, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  • Contribute to the Data Governance program by updating the data dictionary and policies & procedures, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least 2+ years of experience in in-depth data analysis and reporting, with a strong background in data modeling and business intelligence.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, with experience in creating interactive dashboards and reports using various features such as Dimensions, Measures, Filters, Calculated Specialization, enhancements, rules, provisional formatting, DAX queries, Interactions, and more.
  • Knowledge of DAX, SQL, and M Code, with the ability to write complex queries and scripts to extract and analyze data.
  • Experience with ETL tools, including SSIS, Power BI Dataflows, or other Big Data integrations, with the ability to design and implement data pipelines and workflows.
  • Solid data modeling experience using star schema or other methodologies, with the ability to design and implement scalable data models.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in statistical analysis and data visualization, and the ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex SQL queries to generate reports and analytics.
  • Experience with SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio), Power BI, and Power Query, with the ability to manage and maintain large datasets and data warehouses.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheets, with the ability to create and manage workflows, reports, and dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in a remote environment, with the ability to self-manage and work independently.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with data governance and compliance, with knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
