Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage backup and recovery strategies (full, differential, and transaction‑log backups) to safeguard data integrity.
• Develop, schedule, and optimize SQL jobs, scripts, and maintenance plans that support daily data ingestion and reporting cycles.
• Perform performance tuning and query optimization, including index analysis, execution‑plan reviews, and resource‑allocation adjustments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including application developers, business analysts, and infrastructure engineers—to translate business requirements into robust database solutions.
• Document database configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident response protocols for internal knowledge sharing.
• Participate in disaster‑recovery drills and continuously improve recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO).
• Assist in capacity planning and scalability assessments to support arenaflex’s rapid growth and seasonal demand spikes.
• Stay current with emerging database technologies, especially cloud‑based IaaS and PaaS offerings, and recommend enhancements that align with arenaflex’s strategic roadmap.

Essential Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience managing Microsoft SQL Server environments, including routine maintenance, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with T‑SQL, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, Extended Events).
• Problem‑Solving: Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex database issues, develop root‑cause analyses, and implement effective remediation.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
